WHAT IS KAYA FEST?

Kaya Fest is a two-day Music and Awareness Festival that seeks to educate and celebrate the thoughtful uses for marijuana. Long before recreational usage, marijuana has facilitated spiritual, medical, physical, industrial and cultural benefits that through education can foster a new understanding and appreciation for the herb.

“There’s so much more to this plant than getting high or smoking; that’s why we say, ‘education before recreation.’ ”

- Stephen Ragga Marley

Each year Kaya Fest, named one of the Top 10 Music Moments of 2017 by Miami New Times, invites an incredible roster of reggae-influenced artists and appreciators from all over the world to celebrate this moment in history and offer opportunities to lend your voice to the movement.

Created by Stephen “Ragga” Marley of Fruit of Life Productions, this year Kaya Fest coincides with the 40th anniversary of Kaya, Bob Marley’s highest-charting non-compilation album in the UK. Slang for marijuana in Patois, the album Kaya is a melodic roots reggae tribute to love and the love of herb.

In honor of their father’s legacy the Marley brothers including Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, Ky-Mani and Julian will perform together during Kaya Fest for the very first time in California in over a decade!

“When we touch the stage as the brothers it’s very unique. The whole energy of us on stage at once is a great vibe. It’s for all of us, the people. On that day, we are one.”

- Stephen Ragga Marley

If that’s not exciting enough, here are 7 more reasons why you should get tickets to attend Kaya Fest 2018, Saturday, April 28th, and Sunday, April 29th, at NOS Events Center, 689 S E Street, San Bernardino, California.
